Metro Area Graffiti Task Force

The Metro Area Graffiti Task Force of Denver (MAGTF)
is comprised of law enforcement and community professionals from the Denver
metropolitan area and abroad, dedicated to increasing awareness and knowledge in the
public and law enforcement communities of the growing problem of graffiti and
tagging in our cities and towns.
MAGTF also serves as a training resource for law enforcement and the communities
we serve on the latest trends and methods concerning graffiti and its relation
to other serious crimes in society.
MAGTF fully recognizes the difference between "graffiti style art" and vandalism. When done legally, "graffiti art" can be a positive and inspiring form of communication. It is the ILLEGAL acts committed by some artists and aspiring artists that is the focus of MAGTF's prevention and enforcement efforts. When "art" creates a Victim and is a criminal act, MAGTF will take exception to the inherent form of expression found in this style of art.
